dreamwork is… empowering • healing • imaginative • mythic

I’m drawn to the promise that dreams can help us make sense of our place in the world. Inner and waking dreams expand our capacity to relate and to feel more connected to self and others. Through dreams we find that we are part of a greater story, one that is expansive and goes beyond our previous perceptions. Our story continues to evolve as we embody our own healing through creative practices that bring dreams to consciousness and ignite a mythic imagination - the centering of ourselves as the hero of our own story. Our quest of becoming returns treasures to us that were once lost or stolen away, and, in doing so, gives us voice to reclaim who we are and our place in this shared mystery.

WELCOME DREAM SOJOURNER and thank you for wanting to know more about me, how I came to be a dreamworker in the Jungian mystical tradition, and why I know that the dreaming holds meaning and transformation for all of us. I hope my story and experiences inspire you to curiosity and wonder about your own dreams.

MAKING MY WAY TO DREAMS

My spiritual life is front and center in both my personal and professional life. I find solace in the Divine, nature, creative life, and dreams.

I began my relationship with the Divine twenty years ago through a twelve-step program after traumatically learning of my adoption and acknowledging early trauma in a chaotic and alcoholic home.  I bring a deep and personal understanding of recovery and Adverse Childhood Experiences*, as well as sensitivity, presence, and sacred listening to those who wish to sojourn with me. Dreamwork and creative embodiment have been life-changing for my personal journey of self-discovery. These practices have helped me navigate grief, loss, and have offered me a way to reclaim a sense of identity.  Being a late discovery adoptee is a large part of my story because intuition and safety were denied in early childhood, and my identity was disappeared from me for decades.  All that I knew had been shaped to conform to someone else’s needs.  Imbued in me was debilitating self-doubt, confusion, and depression that impacted my relationships, career trajectory, and capacity to create.  I became a ghost to myself and to life.

In 2016, all things came to a halt and dreams came flooding back to my awareness after a back injury landed me in the hospital.  Painful yes, but also fortuitous.  The dreams were mysterious, vibrant, and I was lucid.  Once this doorway to dreams was opened, intuition came with it. I sensed that in dreams there was something ineffable, something that belonged to me that couldn’t be taken away.  I was looking for meaning.  I just didn’t know I would find so much more than I ever imagined.

I persisted to learn more about dreams through self-study until finding an extraordinary community of seekers at the Haden Institute for Spiritual Direction and Dream Work, an immersive Jungian psychology program. My training and certification through Haden were life changing, offering me a much longed-for community, fellowship, and creative space, which was integral in helping me reconnect with my artistic background and acknowledge the creative life force within.  Dreamwork has helped me become real to myself again, fleshing out the bones of my creative life through my love of dance, the arts, nature, storytelling, and wonder. Dreams have helped me see that what I’m searching for is rooted in me and that my belonging is with the Divine mystery.

what people are saying…

As a dreamwork practitioner and multidisciplinary artist, my process explores the capacity for dreams and creative embodiment to expand our personal narratives, help us develop greater relationship with the body, and support intuitive creative experiences. In my experience, creative embodiment works not only as a form of expression but also as alchemy for the spirit. My arts and dance/movement background spans more than forty years with formal training in fine arts and in-depth training in jazz, creative dance, and martial arts.  Today I continue to pursue a multitude of artistic endeavors that center around movement, theater, drawing, video and more. Writing and reflection, story-making, active imagination, guided meditation, breath techniques, and ritual are creative practices that support the self-discovery process and are enfolded into the work we do together. My expertise and passions inform what I uniquely bring to dreamwork and to the dream sojourn we take together.  It’s my life’s work to accompany those who wish to answer where is my belonging, to find deeper relationship with their dreams, their own story of reclamation and creativity, and both the mystery and mythic that lives in them.
